We were happy to be a sponsor of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Blue conference! Anthony Hidell, MBA and Wes Proctor attended and joined the conversation about topics that are universally shaping the healthcare space. They talked with clients about the importance of ensuring employees are covered by domestic AND international health insurance. Otherwise, clients could be unknowingly leaving themselves open to unexpected risks when employees travel abroad. 💼🌎 Thanks to our friends at BCBS Minnesota for partnering with us to create a Total Blue domestic and international solution for your clients! Want to talk to Wes, Anthony or one of our sales team members about international health insurance? Does your pet make you happy? Meet the pets of GeoBlue making us happy! 💙🐾 It's National Pet Week, and we're showing off how much our fluffy, furry and fin-flapping family members mean to us. Plus, it seems fitting that this week honoring pets falls within Mental Health Awareness Month. Anyone who has a pet knows how much difference they can make in both our mental and physical health. Dogs can reduce stress, anxiety and depression and also ease loneliness and encourage exercise. According to the American Heart Association, “Just playing with a dog has been shown to raise levels of the feel-good brain chemicals oxytocin and dopamine, creating positive feelings and bonding for both the person and their pet.” So, go hug your pet—it will make you both feel good! Go ahead, show us a picture of a pet that makes you happy in the comments. #NationalPetWeek #PetLove #Happy #HumanAnimalBond #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealth #GeoBlue #BCBSGlobal

How do GeoBlue nurses interact with our members? In numerous ways, from getting procedures authorized and locating medications to facilitating evacuations and monitoring members who are hospitalized. Nurses are there for our members in so many ways, and we couldn't be more grateful. On this day of National Nurses Week, we're recognizing one of these dedicated nurses, Linda Roy. Linda has held several roles since joining GeoBlue in 2016 as a Case Manager for the Medical Review Team. In 2019, she became Team Lead. In 2022, she was promoted to supervisor of the evening shift. Now she is a Quality Auditor for Clinical Services. Linda clearly enjoys embracing new experiences and learning new skills. She encourages up-and-coming nurses to do the same: “There are so many jobs out there for nurses. Take every opportunity to shadow in different areas so you know what you truly enjoy.” That's excellent advice, Linda! We're thrilled to celebrate you and all the nurses on our GeoBlue team. 🎉 #NationalNursesWeek #Nurses #BCBSGlobal #GeoBlue #HealthCare #NursesWeek #NursingOpportunities #Celebrate

We 💙 Nurses Week! It gives us the opportunity to shine a light on the nurses who complement their vast experience and knowledge with compassion and caring that help people get through their worst days. It's a special balance that our nurses achieve every day for our members. One of these amazing nurses is Karen Sylvester DNP, MSN, RN, Clinical Services Manager. With almost 30 years of experience as an RN, Karen holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Pennsylvania as well as emergency nurse, sexual assault nurse examiner and trauma certifications. Throughout her career, she has worked as a first responder, emergency trauma nurse, sexual assault nurse examiner and an administrator. She has specialized in the ICU, surgical trauma, cancer and rehabilitation. Karen has also participated as a Tri-County EMS board member and has trained EMT and paramedic students. And somehow in her spare time, she also taught a nursing program for nurses reentering the workforce. Karen is proud to be a nurse and states, “I have been fortunate to partner with some of the most amazing individuals that have made a difference. Nurses keep their cool and focus on what needs to be done.” Karen is definitely getting things done. 💪🏼 Thank you for being such a valued member of our team! #NationalNursesWeek #Nurses #BCBSGlobal #GeoBlue #HealthCare #NursesWeek #GettingItDone #Grateful

Do you know a nurse? 🩺 We know a few who work on our Medical Review Team. Every day, they're called on to assist members with issues ranging from facilitating evacuations by air ambulance to locating medications all over the world. This week, for National Nurses Week, we're honoring the incredible and selfless nurses that make up our Medical Review Team, like the amazing Valeria Buckley, MHA, BSN, BHSA, RN, CCM. Valeria has been an RN for 33 years, working in many acute care areas and holding several healthcare leadership positions. When asked why she is proud to be a nurse, Valeria said, “Nurses are movers and shakers in the healthcare industry. They bridge the care gaps in fragmented care. I can use my unique personality and acquired and learned nursing and healthcare management skills to move the needle forward in ensuring the member receives the best outcomes.” We couldn't agree more. Thank you for working to ensure the best outcome for our members, Valeria! 💙 #NationalNursesWeek #Nurses #BCBSGlobal #GeoBlue #HealthCare #NursesWeek #Gratitude

Did you know it’s Nurses Week? At GeoBlue, we have nurses available 24/7 to assist our members around the world, and we're excited to have a special week to acknowledge the incredible work they do. Today we're putting a spotlight on one of these exceptional nurses, Vanessa Olivera. Vanessa has a background in neuro medicine and gained experience in infection and disease management as well as respiratory therapy while she was a travel nurse for Covid units. “I’m proud to be a nurse because I get to make a difference in people's lives, and I get to show my children the importance of care and compassion,” Vanessa shared. And we're proud of her commitment to our members. You're a star, Vanessa! 🌟#NationalNursesWeek #Nurses #BCBSGlobal #GeoBlue #HealthCare #NursesWeek #Compassion

International assignments are on the rise, which is great news! Until you hear that 40% of overseas assignments fail.* What goes wrong? ⬇️Physical and mental health issues ⬇️Lack of organizational support ⬇️Language and cultural barriers ⬇️Isolation or homesickness James Trani and Michael Nole discussed this issue at the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Major Group Summit. James spoke about how GeoBlue is helping avoid some of these pitfalls by using technology to simplify international healthcare. Our mobile app, Global TeleMD services and international employee assistance program are just some of the ways we're creating a streamlined and familiar healthcare experience away from home. At GeoBlue, our on-staff nurses are critical in providing their clinical judgement in deciding what course of action to take for our members. And because their work and commitment often occur behind the scenes, for National Nurses Week, we're shining a light on our incredible nurses and the effect they have on our members' lives. So, we'd like to introduce you to Candice Lake. Candice first obtained a bachelor's degree in exercise science but decided nursing was a better fit after recognizing the amazing difference nurses can make. After graduation, she worked in the ER, traveled across the country on a travel assignment and worked as a telehealth triage nurse. Candice shared, “I am proud to be a nurse because of the lasting impact we can have on patients and their families. It's a privilege to be able to positively impact others, especially on their worst days.” Thank you, Candice, for all that you do for our members! ✨🩺 #NationalNursesWeek #Nurses #BCBSGlobal #GeoBlue #HealthCare #NursesWeek #PositiveImpact
